Wilson Architects
Wilson Architects
Wilson Architects has been in continuous practice in Brisbane since 1884 and, as such, is one of Australia's longest standing architectural firms. The Wilson family’s fourth-generation architect, Hamilton Wilson, is the current managing director of the company. Hamilton’s father, Blair, continues to serve as chair of the practice’s board of directors, and his mother, Beth, is landscape director. The family is joined at the head of the 20-plus member practice by architect John Thong, a graduate of the University of Queensland, who was appointed a director in 1998. The firm is engaged at many levels in projects of a highly specialised and intricate nature, and their partnerships with other leading firms reflect both their willingness to work collaboratively and the broad acknowledgment of their particular expertise in the design of learning and research environments.
