Andresen O’Gorman Architects

Andresen O'Gorman Architects is the partnership of Brit Andresen and Peter O’Gorman who, as well as running a successful practice, have had a profound impact on the teaching of architecture in Queensland through their roles at the University of Queensland (UQ) from the mid 1970s. Their work is characterised by experimental construction with hardwoods, particularly eucalyptus, and innovative housing and building designs that mediate the landscape in conceptually and formally significant ways. Since O’Gorman’s death in 2001, Andresen has continued the work of the practice and is now Professor of Architecture at UQ. In 2002 she was awarded the Australian Institute of Architects Gold Medal in recognition of her and O’Gorman’s contribution to architecture.
