Exhibition Symposium

An exhibition symposium will be held during the opening weekend of APT6 to explore the themes associated with the exhibition.
Keynote lecture by Ross Gibson (Sydney) | Talks by: Erin Gleeson (USA/Cambodia), Suhanya Raffel, Curatorial Manager, Asian and Pacific Art, Queensland Art Gallery, and Ho Tzu Nyen (Singapore) | Artist panels featuring past and present APT artists: Minam Apang (India) | Alfredo and Isabel Aquilizan (Philippines/Australia) | Robin White (New Zealand) | Dadang Christanto (Indonesia/Australia) | Brent Clough (New Zealand/Australia) | Campbell Patterson (New Zealand) | Reuben Paterson (New Zealand).

In Fenar Ahmad's short film set in 2020, a group of Iraqis live beneath the earth and a young boy makes a difficult decision. Iranian filmmaker Hana Makhmalbaf’s Buddha Collapsed Out of Shame tells the story of a young girl in the Bamiyan region of Afghanistan, and explores the effect of the constant presence of the Taliban on relationships and community.
