Special artist projects will be presented as part of the APT6 opening weekend celebrations on Saturday 5 December and Sunday 6 December. Two interactive installations will be on display in the forecourt of the Gallery of Modern Art.
Wit Pimkanchanapong
Fruits 2007–09
Thai artist Wit Pimkanchanapong’s Fruits is a stall displaying an array of paper fruits including oranges, apples, starfruit and mangosteens, transforming the GoMA forecourt into a lively fruit market.
Pimkanchanapong invites you to choose a template and construct a paper fruit in exchange for a monetary donation based on the market value of the fruit. All funds raised will be donated to a charity in Thailand selected by the artist.
Shinji Ohmaki
Memorial Rebirth 2008
Japanese artist Shinji Ohmaki’s installation Memorial Rebirth will appeal to people of all ages – evoking memories of childhood for adult visitors and making new memories for young gallery-goers. A configuration of 50 bubble machines will fill the air with thousands of bubbles, creating a spectacular atmosphere for everyone to enjoy.
