The notion of collaboration suggests the sharing of ideas and information between practitioners. This discussion explores the ways in which several artists in APT6 actively explore collaboration in their work, drawing upon the unique opportunities opened by the collaborative process. A program of short animations from Iran, whose rich visual languages incorporate the artistic heritage of textile design, literature, calligraphy, miniature painting, geometric motifs and architecture.

6.00pm | Larissa Sansour A Space Exodus 2008 (5 mins) + Annemarie Jacir Salt of This Sea 2008 (109 mins) | Cinema A

Visual artist Larissa Sansour combines social observation and humour to undermine stereotypes and comment on the Palestinian experience. In Salt of This Sea, director Annemarie Jacir explores relationships to home through the meeting of a man and woman in Ramallah. The woman, Soraya, has lived in the United States all her life and travels to Palestine after years of exile, while Emad’s ambition is to leave his country for good.
