Visual artist Larissa Sansour combines social observation and humour to undermine stereotypes and comment on the Palestinian experience. In Salt of This Sea, director Annemarie Jacir explores relationships to home through the meeting of a man and woman in Ramallah. The woman, Soraya, has lived in the United States all her life and travels to Palestine after years of exile, while Emad’s ambition is to leave his country for good.
